5 Key Questions to a Better Life

“Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made.  If you want a different result, make a different choice.”

The best way to get to know yourself and others is to ask questions.

Sometimes you need to step back and reconsider how you’re living your life and who you want to be.

Asking questions that provoke introspection is essential to maintaining awareness of who you are, where you are, and where you want to go.

Questions that prompt self-reflection help you to realize and pursue your dreams.

These questions can be difficult to answer, but they’re crucial to creating a life of meaning, fulfillment, purpose, and happiness.

5 Key Questions to a Better Life

1) What is your potential?

What are your dreams, hopes, and desires.  What is your passion?  What matters to you?

Do you believe in yourself?  Are your beliefs limiting you or holding you back?

Are you comfortable?  Are you afraid?

If you want to better your life, you cannot self-sabotage and you cannot give into fear.

Optimism is key.  Replace your limiting beliefs with positive empowering ones.

2) What are your standards?

What do you expect from yourself?  What do you aspire to?  Do you deserve to live an extraordinary life?

Your goals determine the standards you set for yourself.

If you want to change, your standards absolutely have to change.

You must start to see yourself differently to raise your standards.

If you don’t demand more from yourself, you’ll never see a reason to want more from your life.

Stop being passive and don’t settle for comfort.

Raise the bar and set a clear standard for yourself.

Turn your “shoulds” into “musts.”

3) What are you going to focus on?

How you use your attention, moment-to-moment, largely determines what kind of person you become.

Are you focusing on something that matters to you, or something you fear?

Do you focus on what you can’t control?  Do you focus on the negative, the positive, the past, the future?

Focusing on the wrong things is a recipe for feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and depressed.

Focus is critical and heavily influences your experience.

Whatever you focus on – whether it’s true or not – you’re going to feel.  You’re going to see it as important.

Direct your time and attention to what you really want in life.

4) What does this mean to you?

After choosing something to focus on, you get to decide what it means to you.

This meaning will decide how you react to challenges and how you feel along the way.

Is this good or bad? Is this the end or the beginning of opportunity?  Were you always going to fail anyway?

Does it even matter if you try?

You’re wired to figure things out.  Your brain looks for answers when you ask questions – even if they’re bad ones.

Are you going to see things how they are?  Better than they are?  Or worse than they are?

Are you going to make up the worst possible meaning?

2 people can be in the same situation and interpret it completely differently.

They’ll feel different emotions, take different actions, and live different lives.

Whenever something happens, you must find an empowering meaning.

How can you use this? What can you learn?

5) What are you going to do?

Will you step up?  Will you persevere or will you give up?  Will you get some momentum and breakthrough?

Will your dreams become reality?

The actions you take will equal the results you get.  If you want to do something, you’ll either find a way or make a way.

You already have enough information to better your life.   Stop planning and start doing.

Once you get some momentum it becomes addicting.  Progress equals happiness.

Don’t go out there with the idea that you’re going to ‘try’ something, because that’s exactly what you’ll do, you’ll try.

Instead, decide to commit, put yourself out there, take action, and master something.

The only way you fail is if you give up.

You have to create a compelling future for yourself.

Make time to relax and enjoy life, but believe in yourself and don’t value sitting on the sidelines.

Challenge yourself and grow to live a satisfying, meaningful, and fulfilling life.

The next decision you make could change your life forever.  Make better ones and get a better life.
